We are a friendly and growing archery club based in and around Backworth in the North East of England. We have a membership of over 40, ranging from extremely experienced archers to 'newbies', training and developing their skills. Whether you're keen to take up the sport seriously and look at competitive archery, or simply to spend time in a sociable and healthy pursuit, we're the club for you.
We have the advantage of a shooting field surrounded by mature woodland in the grounds of Backworth Hall.
We run beginners' courses from spring to autumn, and have regular coaching sessions to help you improve following your beginner's course. Coaching is given by Archery GB qualified coaches and takes place on a Saturday afternoon at the field or on Tuesday evenings at our small indoor facility at North Shields. However, coaching can be made available at other times by arrangement.
Our outdoor club championship (for members) is held in October with an indoor one in March or April.
